Sing Chan, MD

Dr. Chan’s practice is limited to gastroenterology and liver diseases.  He is Board-Certified in Gastroenterology as well as Internal Medicine, which allows him to comprehensively evaluate patients with his knowledge in both fields.  His office is a state-of-the-art, accredited office-based endoscopic facility.

In addition to endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopy and upper endoscopy, he specializes in the treatment of hemorrhoids, anal fissure and liver diseases such as hepatitis B and C and fatty liver.  He is a frequent speaker on the topic of hepatitis B to physicians and communities.

Dr. Chan believes in spending time and understanding patient’s concerns, empowering the patient in the decision-making process.  In addition, he believes in doing the best by his patients whether when it comes to a medical decision or performing a careful colonoscopy to remove polyps.  He employs the latest and the best techniques in polyp-detection and polypectomy procedures.  Patients are able to discuss with Dr. Chan himself right after the procedure and receive written report for personal record.  He provides written post-operative instructions and educational materials about the patient’s diagnosis.

Dr. Chan graduated from Downstate Medical College with honors and completed his residency at NYU-MVA Medical Center in New York. He received his fellowship training at Westchester Medical Center.

Dr. Chan is an active researcher in the latest treatment of hepatitis. He is a member of American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) and New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Dr. Chan is affiliated with New York Hospital at Queens and North Shore University Hospital at Manhasset.
